How does namejet work

All domains entered into one registrar account. Cons: Other investors and bots can watch your late bids and enter auctions at any time. Domains can still be renewed by the previous owner, so your time spent bidding on a domain can be wasted if they renew it. Investors place a backorder by a set deadline. Only people who place a backorder can participate in a three-day auction for the name. If only one person backorders the domain, they get the domain without an auction.

Domains stay with the registrar that previously had the domain. Domain names you win end up at various registrars rather than just one. NameJet is one of the dumbest biz models. Still I see NJ being better since such above cases are very rare unlike at GD where the domain gets renewed every now and then.

I also think NameJet needs to better define itself. Are they like Godaddy with expired domains, or are they more like Sedo geared towards private sellers. Do they want a brokerage side? The more they do to satisfy the needs of domain investors, the better they will be.

Aftermarket domains are mostly an investor market in my opinion. I will never ever do anything with NJ because of that.

And I already know someone who was with NJ thought I had some great names, so their loss too. As they say, they had one job …. Downside: this only works for an exact SLD. They have put themselves first, and some of their dirty sellers also. Along with the above-mentioned issues, I see one big barrier to success being the lack of an affiliate program, as the domain websites advertise and all link to GoDaddy, SnapNames, and DynaDot, without giving NameJet much, if any, online promotion.

Comments How about they actually accept names from people outside of the cool club… And stop with the Bullshit of exclusive and quality names.. I was going through the Namejet domain name auctions when I spotted the domain name che.

I sold this domain at Sedo in March for 1, Euro. So of course I was interested to see what the buyer was doing with it. The auction ends in a few hours. What I found is that the bidder is probably not legit and that it is either the seller or a friend of the seller that is creating hype about the auction and also making bids close to the reserve so that some legit bidder gets tricked and makes a bid that will hit the reserve.

So after I found all this I came across a tweet yesterday by Mike Berkens that said that auto. So I went to the auction and guess what? Of course the domain name was not sold. I guess the seller thinks we are all stupid. So I went to see who owns the 3 domains. While the owner of the domains uses many different email addresses and a few different addresses it is clear from whois that the same person owns both auto. I was not sure about the domain name che. The sedo purchase gave it away. My buyer at Sedo had the same name and address as the auto.

I checked with Whoisology to make sure and I found that last month che. I have all the whois details, past and current, if anyone is interested. This is of course not something new. Most major domain name auctions with reserves have these bogus bids near the reserve to attract attention.

But this is getting out of hand with Namejet because of its popularity and the ease of putting domains to auction. Buyers should be careful when they see those kind of bids. This of course happens not with dropped or expired auctions but with domain names that are sold by their current owner that tries to manipulate the auction.

I expect a proper investigation by Namejet on this seller that will probably result in a ban of the seller from the platform and the deletion of all related accounts. Namejet could and should do a much better job keeping the platform clean. This would be good for everyone in the domain name industry. It's status is PreRelease Auction.

And no one has made a bid, i doubt that they will. There are 18 days left of the auction, and then i guess it goes to pending delete or something?
