Where to buy smash book products

Welcome to the Smash Book! The best news — you can start today! Step 1: Find a notebook and gather supplies. Any notebook would work — I used one with lined notebook paper, but I think a heavier duty sketch pad would have been a better choice. Your supplies can be as simple as glue or tape and a black pen or marker. You can also grab a package of color paper, pre-cut to photo size, some scissors, colored markers, and stickers, for those days you have extra time!

Step 2: Print your photos. There are so many ways to do this, one option is to use the app Kicksend. You can use it to send photos from your phone to any nearby photo lab Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc. I love how it simplifies the process! Or use Shutterfly and have them sent right to your door.

Step 3: Start gluing! Sometimes, I do a journal-style entry with just one photo, and sometimes I only write names or places and dates. That is what I love about my SmashBook — it is so flexible. These can help trigger memories for the outings that you forgot to take a photo, and add a little flavor!

If you are in a busy season of life, maybe you just get as far as printing photos and sliding them between pages for later. Maybe during a slow or rainy day, you take the time to make 3 or 4 beautiful, elaborate pages.

The SmashBook not only keeps record of the photos you take and the experience you have, but it can tell a story of the real life you are living.

Embrace the coffee stains, kiddo fingerprints, ripped corners — these are all part of the character of your SmashBook! They were easy to make in a pinch, they look awesome and now sit right next to the Smash Book on our bookshelf. If you want to look inside , you can see examples of our Vacation Smash Book here.

Worth absolutely every penny because of the hours and hours it will help entertain the kids! This post comes with a free family organizer. Instead of buying a scrapbook album and page protectors, a smash book is a journal in which you can write, draw, paint and glue in embellishments and memorabilia as you're on-the-move.

No planning is involved — you simply decorate as you feel in the moment. For example, if you receive a ticket stub after a bus journey whilst on holiday, stick it in there and then! Another key element to note is the lack of theme; celebrating tattered and messy, each page in a smash book is entirely unique to portray how you're feeling at that time. Ultimately, smash books will save you a lot of money — but it all depends on whether you can face a less-than-consistent, disordered end result!

If you've opted to record your memories in this more simplistic way, there are only a few basic supplies you'll need to get going on your smash book. Other components include your own memorabilia, such as tickets and postcards, and photos — whatever you find along the way! My daughter also has her own Smash Book where she keeps the same type of memorabilia.

Pockets full of hotel room key cards and a postcard from a favorite stay in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. After several years, we now have filled an entire page with fortune cookie fortunes! I put these in a book we keep just for food-related memories. I don't see Smash Books around as much anymore, but you can still purchase them online at amazon. The main point of these books for me it to have somewhere to store this little misc. So easy that anyone in my family can add their own special treasures.

I highly recommend finding something like this and making it part of your memory keeping routine! Smash Book of Travels. Smash all the Stuff. Work in Progress Wednesday. Cart 0.
